Final Blog : Xbox VS PS3

The final blog today is about Xbox and PS3. These two products are the best selling consoles people buy on the market right now followed by Wii. Who needs the Wii though know you can get the Play station move or kinect for Xbox 360 and both products are much cheaper when you already own one of those consoles then going and buying a Wii. So by far the PS3 and 360 are the best choices on the market if your looking for a console.

 Which one is really better though? First ill start off by comparing the graphics ability of each console. Xbox 360 can have nice graphics but I don’t think it can compete with the Ps3 hi def graphics and the ability to play games in 3d if you have the right TV. So I choose the PS3 for Graphics. Next one feature the ps3 has that gives it a bonus is the blue ray player that comes with each ps3 that you buy so you can watch blue ray movies. The ps3 has free to play online which is a plus and you have to pay to play for a Xbox 360 which that could be something everyone could use with the economy that our country is free to play games online. The only downside on that is that the ps3 network was hacked and there was a problem with that but it is fixed now with extra security so I think it is still worth the free to play instead paying around 50-60 $ a year maybe more just depending on what subscription you get. Especially with the PS3 having all these advantages now it also costs less and almost the same price as buying a Xbox 360. They last longer to I’ve heard a lot of people that say well o I’m on my 3^rd or 4^th Xbox already within a year. I’ve had my same ps3 since it first came out and it still works like brand new and that was several years ago. So in my opinion and on facts I choose a PS3 over a Xbox 360 any day!

Review : Black ops map pack Escavation

 Today I am reviewing Call of Duty Black Ops new map pack that came out on may 3. The last map pack sold about 1.4 million total copies of the map pack to users all over the world so will this real in as much money as the first one maybe. This map pack adds 4 new multiplayer maps with a new zombie map. For the cost of $15 on PSN and 1200 points on the Xbox 360 this could be worth something to look into. The 4 new multiplayer maps are the Zoo, Convoy, Hotel, and the Stockpile. Also you get the new zombie map called the Call of Dead.  They all look like they could be very interesting and especial this post at the top of the blog makes everything look pretty cool. For being $15 I would not buy them because I am not big call of duty fan but if you are a big one well this could be something fun for you. The maps are very dynamic and interesting but of course with have a little bit of glitches and some other things of such sort I will give it a 3.5 out of 5  

Old Timer Tuesday : Runescape

Today is Tuesday and it’s Old Timer Tuesday again. Today I am going to be talking about something most high schoolers have probably played before or tried to play before when they were younger or maybe sometime in high school. The game is Runescape. It was first released in 1995 and was all 2-d. Runescape is a free to play online mmo and a pretty good one.

For $5 a month you can get the membership for it and it’s not that bad of a deal. Runescape use to be pretty popular but now has dwindled down a lot of its population to better games you buy at the store. Most people have played it before so if you ask people if they know what Runescape is most likely they’ll say ya I use to play that, ya I play that and I like it, or ya I played it and it was stupid. It has come a long way from being 2-d when it first came out to being a full 3-d game with lots of stuff to do in it. If you would be interested in it go check it out at runscape.com

Preview Friday : Battlefield 3 Back to Karkand

Today is preview Friday and I am preview the map pack that you will be able to buy when battlefield 3 comes out. Dice revealed that Back To Karkand will be able to be bought and it brings a couple old maps and achievements from Battlefield 2. The announced maps in this expansion are:

·         Strike at Karkand

·         Gulf of Oman

·         Sharqi Peninsula

These maps have been redone with frostbite 2. You can get this for free if you pre-order the game

Old Timer Tuesday : Tron

     

Today is Old Timer Tuesday and I’m going to talk about Tron today. Tron first came out as a movie in 1982 and was a great selling movie in America. The movie was a bout  a dad that makes video games gets traped into a dimensional world of this game that he made. His son figures it out and gets in to and they movie goes on and on with fights and such.

The point of classic Tron is to cut you oppenant off with your light bike and kill them. It is a very interesting and different game. I find it pretty addicting to play while sometimes. You have two light bikes and you ride through a square grid map and try to cut each other off and the first one to crash loses. There’s different levels and it gets harder and more challenging. It keeps track of your score until the end of the game. If you haven’t played it before maybe you should check it out go try and play classic you might like it and now there is also a new Tron movie out that might interest some people

Preview Friday : Madden 2012

          Madden 2012 is a football game. It s going to come out sometime at the end of August and if you’re a football fan and like playing football games well this could be something for you. Of course a new madden is issued every year sometimes each madden kinda feels like the same game with a updated roster of the team but the past couple Maddens have been very good. 

 I would recommend it over the NCCA Football just because the quality of madden is much better and fun. Madden 2012 Looks pretty good so far with the trailer just being released not to long ago you should check it out if interested below. With not to much information released yet you can talk to much about it because just little details and the trailer have been released but if you like football games its always something you could look in to

Review : Portal 2

     

          Today I a reviewing Portal. It was just recently released on the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360. Just like the old portal this one brought a lot of stuff to the table and is fantastic. You’re a robot that has a portal gun and you solve puzzles and portal through different interesting situations. If you like puzzle games and like solving ways to do stuff this is the perfect game for you.

 Portal 2 can be a fast action pase puzzle game that is very fun , addicting and you can’t stop playing until you beat it. The graphics have gotten a very good increase and looks nice. Also after you get done playing through the single player you can go online or with a friend and do co-op mode that has many different levels for you and your friend to play through and have lots of fun. I give Portal 2 a 4.5 out of 5

Old Timer Tuesday : Donkey Kong

Today is Old Timer Tuesday and I’m talking about Donkey Kong today. Donkey Kong is a very old classic first released in 1981 and very popular in foreign countries. Donkey was created by Shigeru Miyamoto that worked for Nintendo.

 At first though like most classic old games it was not released in US until later. Donkey Kong was one of the best selling arcade machines in the early 1980s. Donkey Kong didn’t come out for US until late 1980s. Now a days there are new versions of Donkey Kong being released most recently Country Returns being released in 2010. Most people would probably agree that the original Donkey Kong is the best.

Preview Friday: Playstation Network

Today is preview Friday and I am previewing something a little different. It’s the hacking problem Sony is having with the PS3 and is suppose to be fixed by next week so I am previewing it. It has been going on for about a week now. Someone hacked into Playstation Network. Sony is having trouble fixing it apparently but if have a ps3 account it would be a good idea to change your password and anything else and keep track of your credit card record if you purchased anything with it and its saved on your playstation network account. April the 23rd the network just went offline and everyone was wondering what’s going. Sony said it was just for maintenance but learned later that the network was hacked by someone. Hopefully by next week everything will be better and people can start playing online games again on their PS3s

Sims3 Review

 Today I am reviewing the Sims 3. Sims 3 is released on ps3, xbox 360, and the PC. Sims 3 is a big step up from Sims 2 even though the Sims 2 had 5000 expansions it seemed like . Which really could have made the Sims 2 better than Sims 3 just because of all the expansions adding a whole bunch of stuff. The Sims 3 though added a lot of new stuff and a new fearture that allowed you to walk around your whole neighborhood and could visit neighbors and there weren’t as many loading screens as in the Sims 2.

The graphics were improved a lot, shadows and other lighting things were increased to make it look a little better.  The Sims 3 was almost like a cut down version of Sims 2 with better graphics and no cutting into you playing with lots of loading screens whenever you went to do something. The editor were you edit your sim there was more clothing, hair dews, and everything else you can do. I give the sims a 3 out of 5 it is good but not enough content to match with Sims 2. Also on the other side there is stuff that is good but it gets a 3 out of 5

Old Timer Tuesday : Pac-Man

 Today is Old Timer Tuesday. I am going to talk about a famous old game that about everyone has probably played at one time. It is Pac-Man, everybody is probably familiar with Pac-Man. It is one of the most famous arcade games ever created. Pac-Man was not released in the United States it was first released in Japan. It was released in May 22, 1980.

Later in the same year was released in the United States. It was first released only on arcade machines mainly but later became developed for other game consoles. The whole point of Pace-Man is to go through the map of lines and eat the seeds and then you can get a seed that changes the ghosts that chase you into ghosts that you can eat. The highest someone ever got to was level 256. After you get there it is impossible to beat because of a split screen bug in the software. Now in the modern day there has been many different new type of updated Pac-Man. I bet most people you ask they’ll probably all like the original one the best

World of Warcraft: Cataclysm Review

Today I am review World of Warcraft Cataclysm also known for short as WoW. World of Warcraft already has 2 expansions out Burning Crusade and Wrath of the Lich King.  Today I am review cataclysm the most recent new expansion that raises your max level to 85 and adds the amazing to areas you can quest and level in. World of Warcraft is a PC only game. It is very popular with around 12 million maybe more playing it. It’s one of the most played computer games in the word. For cataclysm I already said the max level is increased from 80 to 85.

 It can be pretty hard to level at some points but I thought it was a little hard but not that bad. Of course the hardest level to get was from 84-85 which you think aahhh this is going to take me forever sometimes but it’s achely not that bad. With 5 new levels comes with new awesome places to level with plenty of fun quests to do. The whole world of the game gets changed its self with all new scenery changes to almost all the old places in Azeroth. The only thing bad is that the graphics didn’t get updated so blizzard is still using the same graphic engine which is starting to be really out dated. The graphics are still colorful, cartoony, and cool to look at but the graphics aren’t the best. Also 2 new races we added you can now choose from the goblin and worgen.

They are both really cool but I have to side with the goblin being my favorite but both beginning stories are really interesting. When you hit 85 you have plenty of stuff to do that could keep you busy for months and months to come.

 You have all new raids, pvping, new armor to get, professions to raise, and more achievements to get. I give World of Warcraft  Cataclysm a 4/5

Preview Friday:Diablo 3

Today is preview Friday again and today I’m previewing Diablo 3. Diablo 3 is a PC only game that is a serious it stated off with Diablo, Diablo 2, and now Diablo 3. The Diablo series is made by Blizzard the popular gaming company that made World of Warcraft. Diablo 3 graphics are a step up from the old 2d graphics and are much better looking. The graphics a 3d now and have great color rich texture to them that make them pretty cool to look at. The graphics in Diablo 3 are much better looking now. Also from better graphics when you make your character you can choose whether you want your character to be a male or a female.

 In previous Diablo games you had no choice certain classes were female and some were male. So far there are 5 classes to choose from but as far as we know not all of them are released so there could be more on the way. The five you can choose from are the witch doctor, monk, barbarian, demon hunter, and the wizard. Each class has their own special moves that make each of the classes special. The talent tress are all unique to and you can respect them unlike in old Diablos if you messed something up well that’s too bad but now you can fix it at certain levels.

 With a whole bunch of new features added to the game play, all new story line, better graphics, new terrain to explore and fight on, and new monsters to kill Diablo 3 looks like a great game and is set for TBA 2011 (To be advised). Defiantly something you should look into if you like multiplayer role playing games and are a fan of blizzard games.

Rift Review

Today I am review Rift and it was released recently on March 1. Rift attracted a lot of people interested in the new mmo especial  since in the commercial it says  we’re not in azeroth any more. Rift took on Blizzards challenge of try to beat them out in having a better game. Rift selling a lot of copies but not close to World of Warcrafts amazing sells. Rift is a pretty good game, starting off with the graphics and they are fantastic. The fighting effects and everything looks amazing and beautiful and you will defiantly enjoy looking at stuff in the game.

Rift has 3 races on each side you can choose from. On the defiants you 3 different races and on the guardians they are different. There is also a very wide character customization process that is fantastic. With many choices to do with your character you get to play for the next 50 levels. The max level in Rift is 50 and with many different zones and the crazy invasions off rifts to fight off it will be a blast. The PvP in Rift is awesome with PvP levels that you increase to get better armor and with variety of game modes and keeping track of stats its very fun.

 On the PvE side there is some PvE but you can tell the main focus is PvP but with very interesting PvE stuff to do it is still fun. For the classes you can probably be 50 different types of classes even more. You start off choosing 4 main ones warrior, mage, rouge, and cleric. Inside those are 8 sub classes to choose from and you get to choose 3 of them to use. It is awesome with the variety of things you can choose from to do. After you get to 50 there is plenty to do so enjoy at 50. I give Rift a 4.5/5

Call of Duty:Black Ops

Today I will be review Call of Duty : Black Ops.  Black Ops is the seventh game to the Call of Duty series. Once again it is a big hit. With it selling 13.7 million copies just in the United States. Which comparing it to all people in America  every 1 out of 8 house holds have a copy of Black Ops in it. First starting off by talking about the campaign. The campaign is pretty short only having about 7 hours of game play really just depending on how fast you play it. The campaign is pretty good. It has a good story line and very awesome cut scenes that are awesome to watch. The game play in the campaign is very fun. The graphics are mediocre . There are a lot better graphics out there in other games but the graphics are good but not really good.

The multiplayer is pretty fun. There’s a lot of stuff you can do in the multiplayer. There’s a total of 50 levels and you can prestige after you hit 50. There are a ton of guns and customizable thing to do with your character. The online game play is good but it can get really cheesy sometimes. There kill streaks you can get are cool and it is always fun getting them and watch your score rack up.

Also besides that there’s the nazi zombies you can play. There’s the main two maps you have one when you start out and you unlock the white house after you beat the campaign. Nazi zombies could be a game its self. I give Black Ops a 4/5

Preview Friday-Guild Wars 2

Today I am previewing Guild Wars 2. Guild Wars 2 is a PC only game and is a multiplayer only. Which is set to come out in early 2012 sometime. So far the game looks pretty good. There is not to much information yet. The graphics look amazing and very detailed. Check out the video below in HD.

Besides from the graphics the main that is released so far are the classes you can choose to play from. So far the released classes are thief, ranger, warrior, elementist,  and the necromancer. There are 2 classes still yet to be released. There are 5 different races you can choose from also. There isn’t to much other information about the game play. Guild Wars 2 is suppose to have a amazing story line you can get into. Just like the old guild wars which the story line was pretty good. If you like play role playing online multiplayer games, and are a original guild wars fan this is something you should defiantly check out for more information go to guildwars2.com

Starcraft 2

Today I am reviewing Starcraft 2: Wings of Liberty.  This recently came out on july 27 2010. Its a computer only title that is coming off of Starcraft: Broodwars which was released in December 18,1998. Which was a amazing game and many people awaited for Starcraft 2. Tommarow is Old Timer Tuesday and more on starcraft will be talked about tommarow. Starcraft 2 finally released in 2010 is a great game. The campaign is amzing.

The campaign has 26-30 missoins and meaning 26-30 is that there are special missions and a hidden 36th mission that you have to do. It could take a variety of time depending on difficulty you play it on and just how long it takes you. The graphics are pretty nice and really colorful.

The cut scenes are amazing. It was like watching and folowing a movie most of the time when playing it. There are a lot of decisions you get to make that affect the game which is awsome.

Now for the mutiplayer. Which the multiplay is my favorite part. There are 3 unique races that you can choose from to play with. With new units and some classic ones from the old starcraft the multiplayer is awsome. There are 6 different leagues bronze (being the worst), silver,gold,platnium,diamond, and masters. It matches you up with people and it puts you in different brackets and you can slowly increase your rank and rising to the top. With tons of dynamic map play for online and the unique 3 races Starcraft 2: Wings of Liberty gets a AMAZING 5/5

Preview Friday

Now on every Friday is goin to be preview friday.So the blog is goin to be for friday for now on every friday I will preview a game that is suppose to come out that is popular.The game that I am goin to preview is Battlefield 3. Has a Release date set for the fall of 2011 and coming out for PC,Xbox 360, and Playstation 3. It is in contest with activision and this Battlefield 3 could shut down the Call of Duty serious being the next big first person shooter. Being the in the Battlefield series it is not a countinuation of Bad company 2. Battlefield 3 is its own game by it's self and so far looks amazing .

Battlefield 3 is goin to take place in 2014 and is goin to be in Iraq.Of cousre the desctructive enviroment. Dice got a new desctrution model there using to make the game. So theres better lighting,shadows, and everything eles to do with buildings walls blowing up.

There is not to much information released yet about it but more wil come and later on.Watch the gamplay episode one at the bottom. The graphics are amazing if you watch it in HD.So this is it the first Preview Friday warapping up with Battlefield 3 coming fall of 2011.

KILLZONE 3

The first review for my first blog i will be doin is Killzone 3. It just recently came out on Febuary 22. It is a Playstation 3 only series. Which is countinued of off Killzone 2. Which the campaign fires right off from where you left off in the last killzone. The gamplay in Killzone 3 is very nice. You can duck and cover behind objects in the campaign and peak over the top of them and shoot. Which is always a nice think to do to trying to avoid being shot at. It has a variety of missions from being on foot to running around killing and the couple vechile missions were you feel unstopable goin through streets shooting the heck out of everyone. The story line is pretty nice acept for it jumps around in times a lot and it could get confusing.The only other downfall there is that in between missions there is a fade to blackness a lot and long loading but everything eles in the campaign is very solid and fun to do. Also if you have a friend over and are bored you should definatly check out the Co-Op campaign. That is very fun to do with your friends ot whoever you want to play it with. The last thing to note is that the graphics are amazing.

Now the multiplayer. This is my favorite part of the game. The multiplayer is very fun. There is a leveling system were you level up and unlock points to put in your class to use online. There are 3 different game modes which all there are fantastic. You have three different game modes which are all fun.On some of the multiplayer maps your can drive big robot vehicles and and you get to use jet packs and they are really fun to use. 

There are a lot of things to do with Killzone three. If you own a playstation 3 you should definatly check this out this is a lot of bang for your buck. From the nice multiplayer with the 5 unique classes you can choose from to the nice campaign and co-op campaign Killzone 3 gets a 4.5 out of 5 for a awsome game
